Why I Get Up at 4-5 AM During the Week
It’s sweat…not pee…on arm day

Hey there, friend!
Let’s be real – without my morning routine, I’d be dragging through the day, struggling to be on my “A-game” for my husband, kids, and patients. That early wake-up call is my secret weapon to staying energized and ready to take on whatever the day throws at me.
Why I Love My Early Mornings
Getting up at 4-5 AM might sound crazy to some, but for me, it's essential. I use that quiet time to get dressed, brew my coffee, and chug a big glass of water before heading out to the gym. And yep, it might be TMI, but my body is now trained to have a bowel movement before I leave the house. Routine is key!
After that, I hop in the car, coffee in hand, and listen to an inspiring podcast during my 18-20 minute drive to Burn Boot Camp. On days when I can't make it to my morning class, I’ll squeeze in a treadmill workout in the basement or catch an evening session.
Why Burn Boot Camp?
I’m obsessed with Burn Boot Camp – not just because of how amazing I feel afterward but also because of the community. The group of women there is such a joy to be around, even at the crack of dawn. We’re all cheering each other on, pushing one another to be a little better each day. It might sound a bit crazy, but that positivity is contagious!
Most mornings, you’ll find me lifting weights or running through cardio routines. And let’s be honest – I’m also busting a move or singing along to some 90s and 2000s hip-hop. There’s something about those beats that just keeps me going!
The Endorphin High That Lasts All Day
When I get back in the car, I’m on fire! After jamming out to Salt-N-Pepa or Lil Wayne, I’m in the best mood and ready to take on the day. I’ll listen to another podcast on my way home to keep that energy high.
Once I’m home, the endorphin high is still kicking in. I grab my gratitude journal, make my handsome hubby a coffee to-go, and finish up packing lunches for the kids. I also glance over my schedule and check emails before hopping in the shower. By then, I’m fully charged and ready to conquer the day.
Building a Morning Routine
I’m naturally a morning person, always have been. For me, the early bird really does get the worm! My routine of exercise, journaling, coffee, and a good podcast gives me everything I need to tackle the day ahead.
It wasn’t always easy, though. In the beginning, waking up early felt like a chore. I’d hit the snooze button, then feel sluggish and regretful all day. But after 60 days of sticking to my routine, it became second nature. Now, there’s no way I’ll hit snooze – I don’t want to feel anything less than my best.
How About You?
Do you have a morning routine? Have you ever shared it with a friend to keep yourself accountable? Maybe even found a workout buddy?
If not, take a minute to think about how implementing a morning routine could improve your day, week, or even month. Having a consistent start to your day can set the tone for everything that follows!
So, what’s your plan to make the most of your mornings?
